Say Something Happened dramatises a direct confrontation between old age and youth. Youth is represented by naďve and inexperienced social worker June. June frantically attempts to process the responses to her local authority questionnaire, by the retired couple Elizabeth and Arthur Rhodes. Mam and Dad (the Rhodes) are determined to present a united front to the world, but by the end, their underlying anxieties have started to show. In her way, June persuades them to start thinking about certain fundamental questions and for all his gentle mockery of social workers, Bennett clearly shows their underlying value.
written and directed by Lindsay Uittenbogaard.
Will You Take This Man is a story about the difficulties that Penny has with her family in accepting her working class fiancé, Jack when she brings him home to meet them. Penny's proud, yet troubled father is joined by a family friend, Brendan, whose public schoolboy identity is being challenged by his inability to find employment and a wife of his own. Together with Penny's rather sour sister, the three form an interview panel, putting Jack in a tough position while Penny tries to reconcile what really matters to her future.
