Two One-Act Plays
by Horace Holley
24 October, 2025 at 20:00 at De Kunsthut, The Hague
In October, the AATG will stage two powerful One-Act plays by Horace Holley. In ‘The Genius’, a man is out walking his dog when he runs into a boy, resulting in a touching conversation between youth and experience. In ‘Pictures’, young painter Joe and his wife Sylvia debate what constitute ‘real’ art with Mr Wentworth, her older relative. Written in the early 20th century, both plays are part of Holley’s ‘Read-Aloud Plays’, a collection tailored for intimate reading settings, exploring themes of love, personal growth, and emotional conflict through dialogue. The evening will feature a structured discussion about the plays, in the spirit of the author’s intentions.
